This spring was a short article about the R&D-financed (sv. FoU) work with digitizing old excavations and producing a Webgis published by John Ljungkvist och Daniel Löwenborg. Welcome to GUAM and Viking Dynasties!

This blog was created to present news from the project Gamla Uppsala – the emergence of a mythical centre (GUAM). A collaboration project between Uppsala University, Uppland Museum, National Heritage Board and Societas Archaeologica Upsaliensis (SAU). The project has now gone into a new phase as Viking Dynasties, a collaboration project involving Gamla Uppsala and Lejre. This project is currently directed by John Ljungkvist and Neil Price, Uppsala University and assistant manager Per Frölund, Uppland museum.

GUAM emerged in 2008 and is currently funded through a series of sensors among which the Berit Wallenberg Foundation, the R & D funds of the National Heritage Board and the Gellerstedt Foundation of The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities are the main contributors.

Viking Dynasties is funded by Krogagerfonden, Denmark.
